Royston and Margaret Walkley, who have lived a life of unconditional love, celebrated their remarkable 65th wedding anniversary recently at Thistle Court Care Home, where Roy has resided since 2018. The Walkley’s gathered with their loved ones for a garden party where an impressive cake and refreshments were on hand to mark the momentous occasion.

Once a painter and decorator, his artistic talents brought life to countless spaces. But Roy’s journey didn’t stop there; he also bravely served in the national service for 2 years in Malaysia.

Beyond his professional and military achievements, Roy’s passion for golf added an exciting dimension to his life. He was captain of Pontypool Golf Club in 1982 for a year and then went on to be President of the club for 3 more years.

The couple met at a dance in their hometown of Pontypool, then married in 1958 when Roy came home from his service. They have a daughter, 2 grandsons, and 2 great grandsons, one of which they met for the first time on their special day at only 2 weeks old.

As they celebrated their 65th anniversary, Roy and Margaret Walkley showcased the unbreakable bonds that tie families together. Their journey is a testament to the power of commitment and the blessings that come from a life well-lived.
